Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced the completion of the Tai Solarin Road in Ikenne town, describing the project as part of his administration’s resolve to rehabilitate critical infrastructure that directly affects residents and local economic activities.
The governor made the disclosure on Monday in a statement posted on his verified X handle, noting that the road had reached “practical completion” after suffering years of neglect.
Abiodun said his government remains focused on restoring roads that improve daily life and boost economic growth across the state, adding that the Tai Solarin Road is a clear example of this commitment.
According to him, the road had been in a deplorable condition for several years, making movement difficult and disrupting commercial activities in the area.
“For a long time, Tai Solarin Road was almost impassable due to years of neglect. This affected mobility and hurt businesses within the community,” the governor said.
He explained that the rehabilitation of the road has significantly improved connectivity in Ikenne, restored economic activities and provided residents with a reliable alternative route, especially during traffic congestion on the expressway.

“Today, the road has been transformed into a major driver of economic activities. Movement is now seamless, businesses are returning, and the road serves as a dependable alternative whenever the expressway is congested,” Abiodun added.
