South-west Governors Meet In Ibadan For Emergency Security Talks

Governors of the South-West states are set to meet in Ibadan for an urgent, unscheduled session to discuss critical issues affecting the region, especially rising security concerns.

The closed-door meeting, scheduled to hold at the Governor’s Office in Agodi, is being hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

All six governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti are expected to be in attendance.

Although full details are still unclear, sources say the emergency gathering will focus on escalating security threats, accelerating key infrastructure projects, and strengthening regional cooperation under the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN).

The governors are also expected to review ongoing joint security efforts, particularly the operations of the Amotekun Corps, with plans to boost its capacity in response to emerging challenges.
