Sunshine Stars head coach, Bobola Akinfolarin, has shared his thoughts after his team got their first win of the 2025–26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
Sunshine Stars beat Gateway FC 2–0 on Saturday at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure.
Akinfolarin said he is happy with the result and believes the team will continue to get better.
He explained that the team is still rebuilding after a poor season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFLhttps://npfl.com.ng/), where they were relegated and lost many key players.
“We got relegated last season and we lost many of our players, so we are rebuilding,” Akinfolarin told The Hope.
“This is a league competition, and we still have many matches to play. We will keep improving game by game.”
