The Ogun State Government arrested six people for allegedly breaking a government seal and continuing construction at a gas station on Oba Erinwole Road in Sagamu. Farouk Akintunde, the Special Adviser to the Governor on the Environmental Protection Agency and chairman of the Ogun State Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, said the site was previously sealed for breaking the state’s environmental laws.
Akintunde shared this with reporters in his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Tuesday. He explained that during a routine check, workers were found working at the sealed site, leading to the arrests. He stated, “Breaking government seal is a serious offence which attracts punishment.”

Akintunde also mentioned that a farm in Laderin Estate, Abeokuta, was sealed for breaking environmental laws by keeping animals in a residential area. He encouraged residents to follow the state’s environmental laws to avoid penalties and noted that the enforcement team removed illegal shanties along major roads in Abeokuta.
