Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has announced a week-long celebration in honour of its outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwole Sikiru Banjo, as he rounds off his five-year tenure this October.
The series of events will kick off on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, with a Legacy Visit to the TASUED Secondary School, Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
On Wednesday, October 22, the university will hold a Special Congregation at the TETFund 2012 Hall, Ijagun Main Campus, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., to celebrate Prof. Banjo’s leadership with tributes, resolutions, and plaque presentations.

The celebration continues on Monday, October 27, with a day dedicated to Prof. Banjo’s Milestone Achievements. Events include a Press Conference and Media Parley (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon), an Exhibition and Photo Display at the Senate Building, and the unveiling of his Lifetime Legacy Projects, which feature tree planting and scholarship endowments (2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.).
The highlight of the week comes on Wednesday, October 29, with a Book Presentation and Photo Exhibition (11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) and a Farewell Dinner/Gala Night (5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.), featuring tributes, cultural performances, goodwill messages, and awards.
Other exciting activities include the unveiling of the Tai Solarin Statue, donated by art collector Prince (Dr.) Yemisi Shyllon, and the commissioning of a new Staff Club, gifted by Engr. (Dr.) Dotun Sanusi, CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Resorts, both taking place on Thursday, October 30.
A Special Jumat Service will hold at the University Mosque on Friday, October 31, while an Interdenominational Christian Service will wrap up the celebrations on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the University Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
According to the Planning Committee, the week-long event is designed to celebrate Prof. Banjo’s outstanding leadership, achievements, and impact, which have shaped TASUED into one of Nigeria’s most respected universities of education.
