Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that the only health center in his village, Ibogun Olaogun, in Ogun State’s Ifo Local Government Area, serves 40 communities.
Obasanjo made the remarks during the community’s annual Ibogun Olaogun Day ceremony on Tuesday.
According to him, the health center in Ibogun requires the attention of the Ogun State Government in order to provide residents with adequate health care.
“About 40 communities patronise the existing health centre, while the facility has been overstretched. The health centre needs State government attention,” the former Nigerian president said.

While thanking donors for the community’s projects, the Balogun Owu stated that the new town hall and palace projects would be pursued aggressively.
He promised to spend donated funds wisely in order to complete the aforementioned projects.
According to Wole Adebayo, the Coordinator of the Ibogun Olaogun project coordination, Obasanjo spent approximately N15 million on academic and infrastructural needs at an Ibogun grammar school during the 2021/2022 academic session.
Previously, the President of the Ibogun Olaogun Community Development Association, Olatunji Okunade, had urged Governor Dapo Abiodun to upgrade the Ibogun health center to a general hospital in order to better serve the health care needs of the community.
