“Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State” has revealed that approximately “200 units of semi-detached, detached, fully detached duplexes, and terraces” currently under construction at the “Muhammadu Buhari Estate” in Abeokuta are in “advanced stages of completion” and will be ready for occupancy before the close of 2023.
Governor Abiodun has also expressed his commitment to ensuring affordable housing for all segments of society. He shared these insights while addressing reporters following his inspection of the ongoing construction at the estate, which is situated along Kobape Road in Abeokuta.
He stated, “We have nearly 200 buildings in progress. Since my last visit, many of them have been sold; some buyers have made partial payments, while others have settled their dues in full. My visit today aims to assess our progress and align the delivery schedule with the project’s status. I am satisfied with what I’ve seen, although I believe the contractors can exert more effort.”
Abiodun went on to say that he has directed the “Ogun State Property Investment Corporation (OPIC)” to convene a meeting with all the contractors to emphasize the need for increased efforts in order to expedite project completion. He stressed, “We intend to complete this project in the not-so-distant future.”
Regarding the “President Muhammadu Buhari Estate,” which is one of the projects inherited from the previous administration, Governor Abiodun expressed his determination to transform it into a high-quality estate that would set a standard for others to emulate in various parts of the state.
