The University of Ibadan Alumni Association, Ogun State chapter, has welcomed the Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro, into its distinguished Council of Elders in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the organization’s growth.
Mr. James Adenmosun, Chairman of the Association, who led the group to decorate Dr. Aigoro in his office at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, explained that the Council of Elders was made up of matured, experienced, and retired members of the association, including the Alake of Egbaland, Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and other retired Heads of Service who offer advice and support to move the group forward
Mr. Adenmosun, who revealed that the association had come to rejoice with him, stated that Dr. Aigoro was the seventh in a long line of members who had held the exalted position of Head of Service of Ogun State for the past nine years, and he asked for help in securing land for their permanent Secretariat, among other things.
In his acceptance address, the Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro, who characterised the University of Ibadan as the best in Nigeria, thanked his association for the honour and urged them to continue to raise the school’s banner.
” I am very happy to have you in my office and as the best University in Nigeria, we must continue to uphold the name of the school, lift its banner, be good role models and do whatever we can to sustain its goodwill. We have enourmous responsibilities, let’s do our best in our callings. I need your support, prayer and any idea that you think will help move the civil service forward” the HoS said.
