President Bola Tinubu has named Jamila Bio Ibrahim as the Minister of Youth and Ayodele Olawande as the Minister of State for Youth. Their nominations await confirmation by the national assembly. Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, announced this development.
Jamila Bio Ibrahim, a young medical doctor, previously led the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF) and served as Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ayodele Olawande, a community development expert and youth leader in the APC, recently worked in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.
President Tinubu urged these nominees to reflect the dynamism, innovation, and productivity synonymous with Nigerian youth as they carry out their roles. This appointment follows the redeployment of Abubakar Momoh to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development, leaving the position of Minister of Youth vacant.
