The latest leak of the Galaxy S22 shows the similarities to the latest iPhone cameras.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is unlikely to hit the market until next year, but it is already inspiring one of the best phones for 2020 – at least under new expiration.
The Galaxy Club announced that Samsung’s future flagship could receive stabilization when changing sensors, which will help future phones improve the photos taken with your camera. And if you want to see this feature in action, get yourself the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
According to the Galaxy Club, Samsung is currently testing phones with sensor replacement. The company plans to roll out the same technology in its next flagship product. Image stabilization technology compensates for camera shake and vibration, making images appear clearer. This is an improved version of the image stabilization feature found on previous phones.
But first, you’ll find enhanced stabilization features on the iPhone – specifically the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is one of the most iconic camera extensions on the phone. A feature known as Apple Sensor Shift not only physically moves the lens to compensate for flicker, as is the case with many smartphones these days, but the image sensor itself also moves and compensates for that movement. Result? Clearer photos and smoother videos – something Samsung will definitely want to include in their phones.
This sensor stabilization report, coming to the next Galaxy S flagship, is particularly interesting given the rumors that Samsung might partner with camera maker Olympus on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The rumors surfaced last week when the S22 Ultra was rendering a new Olympus camera. While the different rumors about these cameras have nothing to do with each other, it’s not a big logical leap to conclude that Olympus may also be involved in stabilizing Samsung’s sensor replacement for next year.
It’s been a long time since the Galaxy S22 was launched as this phone is likely not going to be released until the first three months of 2022. So there’s still a lot of data about future Samsung phones. Given the importance phone manufacturers have on cameras, it’s no surprise to learn more about the camera features for the S22 before the phone launches.
