President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on a one-day official visit.
He is scheduled to inaugurate the first flyover bridge, located at the northeastern segment of Maiduguri, and a twenty kilometer dualized highway from under the flyover to Muna town.
The President, who alighted from the Presidential plane at about 12 pm, was received by Governor Babagana Zulum, Governor El-rufa’i of Kaduna State, Minister of Defence, retired Major General Bashir Magashi, former Governors Ali Modu Sheriff, and Kashim Shetimah, members of the National Assembly from the state, some Service Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammad Indimi.
The President will also inaugurate a new multi-million naira, ultra-modern centre for distance learning, situated on the campus of the University of Maiduguri, built by a philanthropic businessman, Alhaji Muhammad Indimi.
Also to be commissioned by the President, is a hangar, a presidential suite at the Maiduguri airport, also built by Alhaji Muhammad Indimi, as well as Tijjani Bolori Primary School, built by the state government.
He is expected to pay a courtesy visit on the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi.
President Buhari is expected to address troops of Operation Hadin-kai before turning to Abuja.
