A plea for assistance has been made by 60-year-old Odubiro Adesisi, a resident of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun state, Nigeria. She urgently requires a kidney transplant and is seeking the support of compassionate individuals to raise N20 million for her medical treatment.
Odubiro’s medical condition, as documented in a report from Babcock University Teaching Hospital dated September 4, 2023, is critical. She is currently undergoing treatment for chronic kidney disease, necessitating a renal transplant. Her symptoms include nausea, vomiting, facial puffiness, hiccups, anorexia, weight loss, reduced urinary output, and frothy urine.
According to Dr. Oyebisi Oyekunle, the Consultant Nephrologist at the hospital, Odubiro requires additional dialysis sessions and medical interventions. The definitive solution is a renal transplant, which involves preliminary tests and post-operative evaluations. The estimated cost for this life-saving procedure, including post-operative medications, is approximately N20 million.
Dr. Oyekunle explained, “The patient is a known hypertensive individual who was referred to our facility due to various symptoms, including vomiting, general weakness, abdominal pain, and difficulty breathing. She has also experienced pedal swelling and anemia, requiring blood transfusions.”
