Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun approved the resurgence of the state’s media analysis team to promote and enhance the effective dissemination of public activities, programs and strategies across ministries, departments and agencies.
In the letter signed by the governor, the team’s working conditions, among others, asked the information manager at the MDA to immediately disseminate information about government activities in order to bridge the gap between the governments.
The governor’s special adviser for media and public communications, who doubles the role of team leader Remy Hazan, has led teams to several MDAs, according to Tuesday’s statement.
He noted that government activities in some ministries had not been adequately reported and said that all parties had to be on deck to ensure that people were better informed to help, support, understand and assist the government to gain their cooperation.
Hazzan said the visit would help build a friendlier relationship between information officers and ministry management and add value to management.
“The media analysis will encourage state MDA and local authorities to strictly adhere to relevant processes through regular inspections of state and public media agencies,” the chair said.
He urged MDA leaders to increase their support in funding media issues to ensure that the global space is well used to promote government.
Secretary and Team Director of the Ministry of Information and Strategy Lanre Oguninka said that state media analysis is one of the Ministry of Information’s work plans to ensure the transparency of government activities.
During the team visit, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Special Tasks and Intergovernmental Affairs Kehinde Onanya praised SMAT for the visit, noting that revitalizing the team would lead to good governance and generate feedback.
The statement added that visits by teams from various MDAs will continue this week with visits to the Bureau of Domestic Revenue, state-owned real estate and investment firm Ogun and the Ministry of Environment.
