Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the promotion exercises for over 20,000 eligible civil and public servants in the state for 2023 and 2024.
According to the Punch The announcement was made in a statement on Friday by the Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya.
Onasanya explained that the promotion exercises, which include upgrades and transfers, will apply to eligible civil and public servants across various sectors, including the core civil service, teaching and non-teaching staff of government secondary schools, primary school teachers, and personnel from state-owned boards, corporations, and parastatals, such as the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH).
A total of 26,764 civil/public servants across junior, senior, and management positions in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) will benefit from the exercises, which will involve oral interviews as the assessment method.
Additionally, the Governor has approved the December 2024 edition of the Combined Confirmation/Promotion Tests and Compulsory Public Service Examinations for officers in both senior and junior cadres, typically organized by the Bureau of Establishments and Training in the Office of the Head of Service, to aid career progression.
Onasanya noted that the Governor’s approval for the promotion exercises reflects his dedication to enhancing the welfare, morale, and professional growth of the state’s workforce.
On behalf of the state workers, the Head of Service expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun for his worker-friendly policies that have greatly improved the well-being and career development of employees. He urged the workers to show their gratitude by recommitting to their duties.
