Happiness Odeh, a student at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta, was purportedly killed by her kidnappers.
According to reports, Odeh won the Miss MAPOLY beauty pageant on August 3, 2022.
On Tuesday evening, the ND2 Mass Communication student was kidnapped on her route to Ipara Remo.
The beauty queen was kidnapped along Iperu road by unknown people who raped her before killing her in cold blood, according to DAILY POST.
The incident has been confirmed by the MAPOLY Students Union (MAPSU).
The beauty queen, Hapiness was kidnapped three days ago while on her way to attend a movie site, according to the statement released by the Students Union President Sodiq Ajani and Public Relations Officer, Joy Okolie.
The Students Union President told our correspondent on Saturday that the murderers took the victim’s phone.
According to him, the police have begun investigations and are working to apprehend the offenders.
The body of the killed student had been put at the mortuary of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, according to Ajani.
“It was so pathetic. The kidnappers killed her and went away with her phone. Her body was found inside the bush along Iperu road. The body has been deposited at the mortuary. We were at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, yesterday with the parents. May God rest her soul,” Ajani said.
According to Daily Post, attempts to reach the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, were futile because he did not answer his phone.
