The end of the year is often marked by an increase in road traffic volume, which is accompanied by an increase in road traffic crashes, bottlenecks, and traffic infractions committed by motorists.
In light of this, the Ogun State Government, led by Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, has established a Joint Task Force comprised of the FRSC, POLICE, TRACE, VIO, and the Ministry of Transportation, to maintain sanity on major roads in the state and provide effective traffic management strategies aimed at all motorists and other road users, with the goal of engendering hitch-free movement, reducing road traffic crashes, and ensuring roadworthy vehicles.

The joint activities are set to begin on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, according to a signed statement by FRSC Ogun Public Education Officer, Commander Florence Okpe. The activities will include the Abeokuta-Sagamu Highway, the Ijebu-Ode/Epe Highway, and the Abeokuta-Otta Highway.
Excessive speed, unsafe driving, wrongful overtaking, lane indiscipline, phone usage while driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol are among the traffic offences that will be targeted in the joint operations.
The motoring public is hereby cautioned and advised to obey the law and refrain from behaviours that could endanger themselves and other road users throughout the holiday season, as life has no duplicate.
