The Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has embarked on an essential educational initiative by launching the 26th Edition of the Junior Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists’ (JETS) Competition, designed to engage students from both public and private junior and senior secondary schools throughout the state. This competition serves as a platform for young learners to showcase their talents, innovative ideas, and problem-solving skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
During the official commencement of the program in Abeokuta, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, highlighted the significant strides made by the current administration in the education sector. He emphasized that the government’s investments in education are yielding positive results, benefiting every facet of the educational system in one way or another.
Prof. Arigbabu also underscored the importance of two key training initiatives, namely the Progressive Science Initiative (PSI) and Progressive Mathematics Initiative (PMI), organized by the Ministry. These initiatives are specifically designed to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) within secondary schools. By focusing on effective and innovative teaching methods, the Ministry aims to improve the overall performance of students in these critical subjects, which are essential for the future development and competitiveness of the state and the nation as a whole.
