Ogun State House of Assembly has approved the nominees for the Transition Committees of the 20 Local Government Areas sent to the Assembly by the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
The approval was consequent upon the adoption of the report of the Committee set up to vet the list of nominees.The motion to adopt the report was moved by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, and seconded by Majority Leader, Hon. Adeyinka Mafe with support from the Whole House.
Earlier while presenting the report, Hon. Oluomo said the Committee found the nominees capable in experience and qualification and were worthy in administering the affairs of the third tier of Governmentin the state.
Hon. Oluomo said the Governor’s nominees for the posts of the Chairmen and members of the Transition Committees of the 20 Local Governments in the State were therefore confirmed for the appointment for a period of three months in the first instance.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Surajudeen Ishola Adekunbi, in his own remarks, lauded the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for choosing competent individuals to manage the affairs of the Councils during the transition period.
