A new Police Commissioner, Ahmed Illiyasu has formally took over control of the state police command, Elewearan in Abeokuta, he promised that the peace and security of the state will not be compromised.
Mr. Ahmed Illiyasu visited the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, immediately after assuming duties.
Mr. Illiyasu who was appointed and posted to Ogun State following the promotion of his predecessor, Abdulmajid Alli, as Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, which covers both Ogun and Lagos States.
The new commissioner assured that he would show total commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state.
He also commended the infrastructural drive of the governor, saying, “I was in this state four years ago and I know how it was, but what I saw when I came now is a radical difference. I can see a serious difference.”
The out-gone commissioner, Mr. Alli, who formally introduced his successor to the governor, said the new commissioner was very hardworking and a no-nonsense officer.
The governor welcomed the new commissioner and praised the AIG Alli for ensuring that Ogun remained peaceful, and saluted his professionalism and competence, stressing that the new AIG’s promotion was well deserved.
