Afro Hip-hop artist Naira Marley has advised his fellow Muslim brothers against betting during Ramadan.
The artist also as the Marlian president said the Muslims should forgo sports betting and sure odds in this auspicious month, admonishing them to fast instead.
“Bro leave that sure odds and forget betting..fast”, he wrote.
On Wednesday night, in a broadcast, Saad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), declared that Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, would commence in Nigeria on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
The declaration was made after the National Moonsighting Committee reported sightings of the crescent moon in different parts of the country.
