The Lagos Police Command has confirmed the exhumation of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad. An autopsy on his body has been completed, and the police are awaiting the results. The nurse who administered an injection to the deceased singer before his death has also been arrested.
Mohbad, a 27-year-old Afrobeat singer, passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12, prompting a thorough investigation by the Lagos Police Command following orders from the acting Inspector-General of Police.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, confirmed the exhumation of Mohbad’s body and stated that an autopsy would commence soon. However, he did not provide details regarding any arrests made in connection with the singer’s death.
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s family has alleged that they are facing threats from individuals including Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, and others. Mohbad’s mother, Mrs. Adebose Oluniyi, has called for maximum protection for her family, expressing fear for their safety.
During a visit to the family by Senator Ishaku Abbo, Nollywood stars Tonto Dikeh and Iyabo Ojo, Mrs. Oluniyi voiced concerns about threats and fear. Senator Abbo assured the family of maximum protection and vowed to ensure a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s death. He emphasized that justice would be served, regardless of the individuals involved, and that the government would not abandon its citizens. The senator also mentioned that the Senate would resume on September 26 and would look into the matter, inviting the police to brief them on the progress of the investigation.
