Ogun Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured that his administration will continueto put in place policies and programmes to develop and improve on the manufacturing sector as a catalyst to the economic growth of Ogun State.
Prince Dapo Abiodun gave the assurance on Thursday at the 36th annual General meeting of the manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, held at Oke-Mosan Abeokuta.
He explained that the ISEYA MANTRA of the current administration is all inclusive for the implementation of the public private partnership, PPP iniriative which according to him is fundamental to the economic growth of the state.
Prince Dapo Abiodun pointed out that the ongoing massive infrastructure development across the state in the area of road reconstruction which include Atan/Agbara, Ijebu Ode- Epe and Ogijo roads as well as the Agro- cargo Airport amogst other significant projects are basically to maximize the potentials of the investors and to achieve immense development in the state.
Governor Abiodun said the AGM is an important platform for the cross fertilization of ideas for investors to improve on the socio-economic development of the state.
The Governor who described the theme of the meeting the African continental trade area agreement and Nigeria manufacturing sector- maximizing the gains mitigating the drawbacks as apt and instructive , stated that the forum would serves as a veritable opporrunity to discuss the implications and benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area and also to sensitize members on the need to prepare and brace up for the multilateral trade agreement which holds huge prospect for the growth and boosting intra Africa trade by 52.3 percent.
The number one man in the state called on the manufacturers to ensure regular remittance of their necessary dues to the government purse to accelerate development across the state
In his remarks, the Vice-President, Westrrn Zone of the Association ,Mr Samuel Kolawole and its state Chairman Mr Seleem Adegunwa appreciated the current administration for its tremendous support to the association, particularly in the area of infrastructural development, urging governmemt at all levels to partner the association for the growth of the nation’s economy.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of award of recognition to the state governor.
