Andy Uba, a former Senator, was named the winner of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary in Anambra on Saturday.
Despite the controversies surrounding the primary, authorities stated that Mr. Uba beat 13 other candidates to become the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the November 6 election.
Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun State and chairman of the APC primary election panel, revealed the results of the election early on Sunday at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Agulu Lake, Awka.

Mr Abiodun stated that Mr Uba won with 230,201 votes, while his closest competitor, Johnbosco Onunkwo, received 28,746 votes.

The election committee headed by governor of Ogun State said they adopted the open ballot mode also known as Option A4 to conduct the governorship primary election.
