Ojude Oba 2015 was glitz, glamour and grandeur all roll into one event. Ojude Oba festival holds on the third day of every Eid-el-Kabir.
The Festival which usually mark the end of Sallah festival in Ijebu land threw Ijebu Ode city agog on September 26, 2015 as dignitaries from all works of life, politicians, business giants, industrial magnates, companies, musicians, comedians, dance troops all trooped into the city in their numbers to celebrate the annual Ojude Oba festival with the people of Ijebu land.
Among prominent individuals who graced the event include the Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosu, Ogun state deputy governor, Mrs. Yetunde Abosede Onanuga who is a native of Ijebu land, former Defense minister, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson, former Ogun state governor, Gbenga Daniel, former Bayelsa state governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Elder states man, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, former senators, Gbenga Kaka, Olurunimbe Mamora, Olabyi Durojaiye (Ijebu indigene) and Daisy Danjuma, Musician, Queen Salawa Abeni, Billionaires Oskar Ibru, Olorogun Dr. Sunny Kuku, who is a native of Ijebu land and Otunba Subomi Balogun also a native.
Ojude Oba festival which is fast becoming Nigeria’s most attended festival, is annually hosted by the paramount ruler of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II.
The event which took place at the Ojude Oba Arcade opposite the Oba’s palace, was filled to capacity and filled with traditional dance, cultural displays and colourful attires of the participants.
As usual, all the age grade groups of Ijebu land and their families went round the venue acknowledging cheers from the people before mounting the podium to pay homage to Oba Adetona.
