Sanusi Secretly Marries Fourth Wife in absential.
A royal marriage between the Emir of daughter of Lamido Adamawa,HRH has taken been consummated. The wedlock ceremony kept away from the public.
The marriage, which palace sources said was consummated on Friday, has finally rested long time speculations to the effect that Kano Emir, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II was seeking the hand of Lamido Adamawa’s daughter in marriage which led him to pay several visits to the Lamido Adamawa’s palace in the past.
Though conducted secretly, sources privy to the development said the marriage rites were observed inside the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa where Lamido consented to handing over the hand of his daughter Sa’adatu to the Emir of Kano in marriage, minutes after Friday prayers were observed.
The sources noted that the Emir of Kano who is currently in Saudi Arabia as Nigeria’s Amirul Hajj assigned a powerful entourage of senior traditional title holders of Kano, presided by Galadiman Kano Alhaji Abbas Sanusi to represent him at the occasion which was also attended by the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje alongside his aides.
In traditional circles, marriages like these are seen as ways of cementing relationships between emirates and kingdoms in Northern Nigeria especially, as both the emirates of Adamawa and Kano have a long historical bond as they are all products of Uthman Dan Fodio’s dynasty.
According to the sources, Lamido’s daughter will be the fourth wife of the emir of Kano.
