The Ogun State Government has taken delivery and commissioned a
12 bed Intensive Care Unit, equipped with neonatal incubators, children’s crib, generating set and a phototherapy machine valued at N194m within the premises of the General Hospital, Ijebu Ife, in ijebu east local Government area of the State, donated by the Government of Czech Republic in Collaboration with Otunba Femi Adewunmi.
The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun in his address at the occasion, said the recent upgrading of hospital facilities across the state, was to ensure enhancement of the people’s wellness and wellbeing as it pertains to providing better life for its citizenry.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele reemphasised that his administration will continue to create conducive environment for public private partnership to thrive in the state in every sector.
While appreciating the country for identifying identifying with the state, Gov Abiodun noted that, the people of Czech Republic and the citizens of Ogun State, share a common practice of communal living and self-help, adding that It is therefore an easy-decision for them to see themselves as partners in the continued and successful implementation of our “Building our Future Together” Agenda.”
“This gesture has shown that we have continued to reap bountiful harvests from our sincerity of purpose in our PPP approach to develop all sectors of the economy and improve the welfare of the people of our dear state” he said
The Czech Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Zdenek Krejei said that the spread of covid-19 was still very strong in Czech and some other countries, hence the need for the government of Czech to donate sophisticated equipment to support Ogun state government,
adding that Ogun State is the first to receive the intervention of the three states earmarked.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker, said Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration has made Ogun State conducive for partnership, calling on other well meaning individuals and organizations to support efforts of the state government in its building our future together agenda, assuring the equipment would be used optimally.
Chairman, Ijebu East local government, Hon. Wale Adedayo, said the project was to offer quality health services for the people of Ijebu and the state at large, adding that Otunba Adewunmi gesture was indeed a great one and a way of contributing his quota towards the development of Ijebu East.
Head of the hospital, Dr femi Osisanmi appreciated the Government of Czech Republic for donating the intensive care unit clinic, saying it came at a time the hospital was in need of such facility for the treatment of the masses.
