The professor of political economy predicted that both the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and the APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu would lose to Labour Party nominee Peter Obi during a live appearance on Politics Today on Channels TV earlier on Tuesday.
Ogun Today remembers that before Obi defected from the PDP to join his party, Utomi was a presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
Later, Utomi abandoned his bid for the presidency to make room for Obi.
Utomi gave PREMIUM TIMES an explanation of his choice to give up his dream in favor of Mr. Obi a few weeks ago, stating that it was based on “a combination of considerations.”
In order to usher in a period of trustworthy leadership in Nigeria, he claimed that he has been searching for a unique and alternative political platform that will challenge the supremacy of the opposition PDP and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
He continued by saying that he is in contact with other parties regarding a potential alliance to provide Nigerians a better political alternative.
Speaking to Channels Tv once more on Tuesday (today), Utomi promised that Obi would win the upcoming 2023 presidential election.
He said that Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, would defeat both the APC and PDP contenders for president.
He insisted that the moment has come to save the nation and that Nigerians are sick of the two major parties’ ineffectiveness.
“Nigeria is at a standstill. Nigeria technically has no money. Nigeria is unable to pay its debts. Peter Obi is the change that Nigerians need, according to Utomi.
