The event was held last Saturday, July 8, 2017, in the ancient town of Abeokuta. The town literally stood still for the event.
The wedding ceremony attracted dignitaries from all walks of life and had in attendance the Acting President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, serving and former Governors, All Progressive Congress party leaders, members of the National and State Houses of Assemblies, Royal fathers as well as business moguls.
The Chairman of the occasion was Hon. Justice Alpha Belgore.
The Acting President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo directed the cutting of the cake, and he prayed for the couple to enjoy great favour, love, and affection in their marital life.
The Speaker of the House of Representative, Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara was there.

Dogara noted that marriage is a race which he advised them not to break the rules praying that the end of the union would be greater than the beginning.
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo advised the couple, that there would always be marriage frictions but he urged them to iron out any differences before the following morning through proper communication.
The over joyous bride’s father and the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun expressing his joy thanked all for honouring and sharing in his family’s happiness urging the couple to imbibe tolerance, trust, and the fear of God to be the foundation of their marriage.
Later speaking with journalists, the groom’s mother, Mrs. Abike Dabiri Erewa enjoined the couple not to allow the third party in the running of their home while she prayed for God’s guidance for the couple.
