Nigerian Afrobeats stars Davido, Rema, and Omah Lay will headline the seventh edition of Afro Nation Portugal alongside Congolese music star Fally Ipupa, as organisers unveiled the festival’s first wave of performers for 2027.
The three artistes were announced on Wednesday as the major acts for the festival, which is scheduled to take place from June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal.
The announcement also features a strong Nigerian presence, with Omah Lay and Victony among the artistes billed for the main stage.
Other artistes announced in the first wave include Jamaican singer Shenseea, Valiant, Rayvanny, Odeal, Bamby and Miimii KDS.

Congolese-French singer GIMS has also been announced as a special guest.
The festival’s main Lit Stage will feature Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa as headliners, alongside GIMS, Omah Lay, Victony, Shenseea, Valiant, Rayvanny, Odeal, Bamby, Miimii KDS and South Gidi Experience.
The Piano People Stage, which focuses on amapiano, will feature Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin, 031Choppa, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Young Stunna and Zee Nxumalo.
The Afrotronic Stage will host Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko and JNR SA.
Organisers are expected to announce additional artistes as preparations for the festival continue.
Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa are all returning performers at Afro Nation Portugal, with organisers describing the trio as “three giants of African music”.
The 2027 festival will begin with an opening party on June 8, followed by the three-day main event from June 9 to 11. A closing party is scheduled for June 12.
A Strong Nigerian presence
Nigeria has maintained a prominent position on the Afro Nation Portugal line-up since the festival was launched in Portimão in 2019.
Burna Boy was among the major acts at the inaugural edition and has returned for several subsequent editions, including 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026.
Davido has similarly featured prominently at the festival, with appearances at the 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2025 editions before his return as a 2027 headliner.
Wizkid has also been part of the festival’s major line-ups, appearing in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2026.
Other Nigerian headliners have included Asake, who topped the bill in 2024 and 2026, while Rema headlined the 2024 edition.
Tems was also a headline act at the 2025 edition.
Several other Nigerian artistes have performed at the festival in supporting or other roles, including Omah Lay, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold, Wande Coal, Young Jonn, Darkoo, Victony, Qing Madi, Shallipopi and P-Square.
The latest announcement therefore extends a longstanding Nigerian presence at the festival, with Davido and Rema leading the 2027 bill and Omah Lay and Victony featuring among the supporting acts.
Afro Nation Portugal
Afro Nation Portugal was launched in Portimão in 2019 and has grown into an international festival focused on Afrobeats, amapiano and African music and culture.
The 2027 edition is scheduled for June, marking an earlier date than recent editions, which have generally taken place in July.
The festival is an 18+ event, with attendees required to present valid identification.
Further artistes and other festival details are expected to be announced in the coming months.
