Music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has dismissed widespread speculation that singer Ayra Starr has parted ways with Mavin Records.
The Mavin Records founder set the record straight after rumours circulated on social media claiming that the award-winning singer had quietly exited the label following her recent international successes.
Reacting to the claims, Don Jazzy took to social media with a brief but emphatic response, insisting that Ayra Starr remains signed to Mavin Records.
“Ayra my pikin, my celestial being, is still very much a Mavin abeg o,” he wrote.
His statement has effectively put to rest the rumours, reassuring fans that the “Rush” hitmaker has not severed ties with the label that launched her career.

The speculation gained traction after Ayra Starr continued to expand her global profile through international collaborations, festival appearances and major award nominations, leading some fans to believe she had left Mavin Records.
Neither Ayra Starr nor Mavin Records had previously addressed the rumours before Don Jazzy’s intervention.
Ayra Starr joined Mavin Records in 2021 and has since become one of Africa’s biggest music exports, with chart-topping hits and growing recognition across Europe and North America.
Don Jazzy’s clarification comes amid increasing scrutiny of artistes’ relationships with record labels as more Nigerian stars pursue global careers while maintaining existing recording agreements.
