Osun Governorship: Dele Momodu Sends Message To Adeleke Ahead Of Poll

Veteran journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, has urged Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to remain steadfast ahead of the August 15 governorship election, warning him to prepare for possible challenges during the poll.

Momodu, in a message to Adeleke on Friday, described the governor as his “twin brother” and said he was compelled to reach out to him for posterity.

He cautioned Adeleke against assuming that the Independent National Electoral Commission would conduct a free, fair and credible election in Osun State, alleging that the ruling All Progressives Congress-led government was determined to use the poll as a test run for the 2027 presidential election.

Momodu also claimed that he had received warnings from friends within the APC about possible developments during the election, alleging that the party was determined to secure control of Osun State regardless of the consequences.

He urged Adeleke to continue relying on God, while commending the governor for what he described as his achievements in the state.

Momodu further said Adeleke should allow the opposition to campaign on its past records, suggesting that there was little for them to showcase compared with the incumbent administration.

He wrote, “My Twin Brother, I’m led in spirit to send you this brief message, for posterity sake. PLEASE, take note of the following:

“A. Let no one deceive you that INEC, under the complete control of PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU will organize free, fair and credible ELECTION in OSUN State next week, AUGUST 15, 2026… The ruling APC government is determined to use your election as the dress rehearsal for their nefarious preparation for the Presidential election in January 2027. The devil has taken possession of their hardened souls and they’re ready to play GOD because of POWER…

“B. We have a lot of friends in APC and we’ve been warned to expect ANY eventuality. The instruction to their foot-soldiers is simple: GRAB OSUN by any means NECESSARY and deal 👌 with the resultant volcano thereafter…

“C. Pls, hold on tightly to GOD as you’ve always been. We are proud of the uncommon work you’ve done, and doing. Let them campaign with the work they did in the past… Little or nothing to show… YOU ARE LOVED

The message came a day after Adeleke’s nephew, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, raised concerns about the conduct of the forthcoming election.

Davido said he would seek the intervention of United States President Donald Trump if he became dissatisfied with the conduct of the Osun governorship poll.
