The Ogun State Police Command has announced a shooting range exercise for its officers scheduled to hold on Tuesday at the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Alamala, Abeokuta.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the exercise is part of the command’s ongoing training programme aimed at improving officers’ operational readiness and marksmanship skills.

Residents, commuters and other members of the public in and around the exercise area have been advised to remain calm, exercise caution and avoid the vicinity for the duration of the exercise.

Babaseyi assured the public that the activity is strictly for training purposes and poses no threat to residents. He called for the cooperation and understanding of the public to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the exercise.

“Adherence to safety instructions will help guarantee a successful exercise while keeping everyone safe,” he said.
