Residents of Ijere Worugudu in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, have issued an urgent appeal to Governor Dapo Abiodun for intervention against rampant land grabbing and intimidation by armed thugs.
In a desperate “Save Our Soul” message, community members revealed that the intruders claim to be enforcing a court judgment on behalf of the Akinyemi Ogundimu family. They assert possession of legal documents authorizing their actions.
The residents pointed to Suit No. AB/44/2009, decided on April 15, 2015, by Justice O.O. Majekodunmi, which affirmed the Ogundimu family’s ownership over specific parcels—including Ijere Onigbedu, Orile Egun, Agelete, and Akiegun.
However, the judgment explicitly excludes Ijere Worugudu and Orile Ijere from this claim, as stated on page 20 of the ruling. Despite this, the alleged grabbers have weaponized the decision to seize land, terrorizing families who have farmed the area for generations.

“They’ve turned our homes into a war zone,” said a local youth leader. “We can’t till our fields or sleep peacefully. These men roam with weapons, posing as authorities—it’s devastating.”
