Abeokuta Club Honours Former Ogun State Governor Osoba And Chief Osunkeye As Vice Patrons

ABEOKUTA — The Abeokuta Club has appointed former Ogun State governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, and the Baba Laje of Egbaland, Chief Olusegun Osunkeye, as Vice Patrons.

Announcing the appointments, the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Tunde Oluwasola, said the honour recognises their consistent support for the club’s mission of promoting unity, friendship, service, and the cultural advancement of Egbaland.

The Life President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Afolabi Soyode, praised the two honourees. He described Osoba as a figure of truth and exemplary leadership whose influence continues to inspire generations, while he referred to Osunkeye as a man known for his integrity and generosity.

Soyode noted that both men have maintained a long-standing commitment to the development of the club and Egbaland as a whole.

The President of the Club, Dr Adewale Adeola, expressed confidence that their elevation would further strengthen the club’s guidance and moral standing.

With this appointment, Osoba and Osunkeye join the ranks of other notable Vice Patrons of the club, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Brigadier Oluwole Rotimi (retd).
